Preadmission Contact and Updates

You will be contacted by our preadmission team with further details regarding your admission 3-4 days prior to your procedure. In the meantime, should you change your contact details, your Health Fund or amend your Medicare Card Details, we request that you advise our preadmission team promptly.

Should you have any queries or concerns regarding your Level of Cover, please contact your Health Fund directly.

Important Considerations for Major Surgery

Please be aware of the following if your doctor has booked you into Maryvale Private Hospital for Joint replacement or other major surgery:

• If you live alone, it is essential that a plan be in place to support you following discharge.

This support can be provided by a family member or friend who may be required to stay in your home. If a family member or friend is not available for this support period, you may require convalescent or respite care.

• Convalescent and respite care placements need to be organised and booked several weeks in advance and must be organised prior to your admission for surgery.

• If you require home renovations such as rails, ramps or home modifications these need to be organised prior to your admission to hospital.

• If your surgeon considers you require rehabilitation, Maryvale Private Hospital will arrange this.
