The Role

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, the Orderly is responsible for the safe and efficient transfer of patients, distributing internal mail and linen, assisting with environmental services, collection and delivery of equipment and other duties to support the Hospital as required.

Essential Criteria

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff and other medical and non-medical personnel
  • Strong teamwork focus
  • Effective time management and organisational skills
  • Genuine interest and desire to help people
  • Must be flexible and able to work different day/hours of the week

 Desirable Criteria

  • Current Orderly experience within the Health Sector
  • Experience in Hospital Equipment
  • Certificate III in Health Services Assistant or studying towards.

Specific on-the-job training will be provided to the right candidate.

Food Services Assistant

The Role

The Food Service Assistants provide a high level of customer service and efficient service delivery to our clients, patients, doctors, staff and visitors in a safe and courteous manner.

As the Food Services Assistant you will be required to assist in the preparation, delivery and service of meals to patients and staff while working within a team environment.

Successful applicants will be flexible and available to accept a range of shifts throughout the week, including weekend shifts.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience within a food service environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Observation and awareness of Maryvale Private Hospital’s Mission Statement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Food Hygiene Procedures.
  • An ability to work within the guidelines of an approved Food Safety Plan.
  • An ability to work within a team environment, and also autonomously.
  • Demonstrated high-level Customer Service focus.
  • High level of organisational and time management skills.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

Essential:

Food Handlers Certificate.

Desirable:

  • Recent experience within a health care facility.
  • Understanding of infection control guidelines.
  • Knowledge of manual handling principles and environmental hygiene standards an advantage.

Registered Nurses

Maryvale Private Hospital is seeking Registered Nurses (RN’s) to join our friendly, supportive Medical/Surgical Ward Team on morning, afternoon and night duty shifts who pride themselves on delivering high quality patient care.

We are also seeking Nurses with demonstrated experience in Scrub/Scout, Anaesthetics and Recovery to join our dedicated and friendly Operating Theatre Team.

As a valued staff member at MPH you will play a key role in providing the best possible outcomes for our patients by providing the absolute best possible care.

Successful applicants must be suitably experienced and have a commitment to providing excellent standards of care and exceptional communication skills, while working in a supportive team environment. Applicants need to be flexible and adaptable and have an ongoing commitment to professional development and education.

Essential criteria for all roles:

  • Relevant experience in Medical and/or Surgical setting
  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Commitment to ensuring the levels of service to patients is always of a high standard
  • Demonstrate excellence in verbal and written communication skills and the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders both internally and externally at various levels
  • Ability to work efficiently in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Be innovative and adaptable to change processes
  • A strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to role model and promote the MPH core values
  • Commitment to quality and risk management
  • Dedicated interest in ongoing professional development
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts across all hours

Desirable criteria for both positions:

  • Current acute medical and/or surgical nursing experience within the Private Health sector.
