Dr Munad Khan

MBBS, BMedSc, FRACS (Urol)

Dr Munad Khan is a well travelled Australian trained urologist with a particular interest in robotic surgery. He holds a position at Monash Health as a consultant urologist and is actively involved in teaching urology trainees.

Munad grew up in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne and undertook medical school at the University of Melbourne, graduating in 2012. His junior years in medical training were undertaken at the Austin Hospital which included a variety of opportunities rotating through rural Victoria and Tasmania. He commenced specialty training in 2018 in Queensland, working in regional and metropolitan centers before returning to Victoria for his final year at Monash Health. Following this, he undertook a year long fellowship in robotic surgery in the North West of England, gaining valuable experience in advanced techniques as well as optimising the patient journey through their entire hospital stay.

Having lived and worked in a diverse collection of towns and cities, Munad feels comfortable with being able to connect with people of all backgrounds and feels this is an essential step in the delivery of excellent urological care.

He is passionate about medical education, both generally for junior medical students and doctors, and specifically for aspiring urologists. He appreciates the unique challenges facing the next generation of surgeons and always takes an active role in guiding training pathways.

Munad is trained to provide treatment for all general urological problems including voiding difficulties, urinary stone disease as well as advanced open, laparoscopic and robotic procedures for all benign and malignant conditions.

Mr Trung Pham

MBBS (Melbourne), FRACS (Urology)

Mr. Trung Pham graduated from the University of Melbourne’s Medical School in 1991. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Surgeons and a Member of the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand in 2001.

Mr Pham undertook his general surgical and urological training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Monash Medical Centre from 1992 to 2000. In 2001 he undertook a year of clinical and laboratory prostate cancer research at the Princess Alexandra Hospital Brisbane and he was an Associate Lecturer at The University of Queensland Medical School. The following year he was awarded with both The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Surgeons Foundation Travelling Scholarship and The Urological Society of Australia New Zealand Travelling Fellowship enabling him to spend time at the Institute of Urology in London (UK).

Mr Pham has been a consultant urologist/urological surgeon at Monash Health and Latrobe Regional Health since 2002, as well as providing private practice consulting services in South East Victoria and Maryvale Private Hospital.

He has expertise in comprehensive prostate cancer diagnosis and management, Holmium laser surgery for benign prostatic enlargement and minimally invasive treatments for renal stone disease including laser flexible ureteropyeloscopy, lithotripsy and percutaneous surgery. He is one of the most experienced Prostate Laser surgeons in Australia with extensive experience in the procedure of Holmium Laser Enucleation of Prostate (HoLEP). He has been performing HoLEP since 2003, and this technique has now become the gold standard in the surgical treatment for bladder outflow obstruction due to benign prostatic enlargement.

Mr Pham consults and operates at The Valley Private – Mulgrave, St John of God – Berwick and Maryvale Private – Morwell.
