Dr Abdul-Rauf ‘Wale’ Ibraheem

Dr Abdul-Rauf Ibraheem (Wale), is a Specialist as well as generalist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with both overseas and Australian experience.

My area of interest encompasses pre-pregnancy, pregnancy care (including high risk obstetrics and complex delivery) and General gynaecology conditions such as menstrual irregularities, contraception, PCOS, pelvic pain, prolapse and minimally invasive gynaecological procedures.

I moved to Australia in 2004 having worked in different countries overseas. In the course of obtaining the fellowship of Royal Australia and New Zealand college of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, I trained in many regional and tertiary institutions in Tasmania and Victoria, including, but not limited to, Launceston General Hospital, Royal Hobart Hospital, Monash Medical Centre and Royal Women’s Hospital Melbourne (Sandringham campus).

Having worked in many hospitals across Australian states, following my Australian Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, I understand the need of our women both in rural, regional, and metropolitan cities. My overseas experience, coupled with my Australian experience from regional and tertiary centres, equipped me with my holistic approach to my patient management.

My Focus is about providing efficient, evidence based and most logical care to the women with the hope of getting women back to their daily life activities as soon as practicable, being the backbone of every family.

I derived joy in impacting knowledge; thus, my involvement in the teaching of our future medical doctors through Monash University as well as training the RANZCOG trainee during their rotations through Latrobe Regional Hospital.

My leisure hours are spent with my lovely family (my wife and two children) cooking, helping my children in their school activities and having fun.
