Dr Tanja Bohl

Tanja has lived and worked in Gippsland most of her life. Currently Tanja focuses her work in the area of vulvovaginal disease. A consultant dermatologist by training Tanja has pursued her interest in this aspect of women’s health for decades. She has worked and was instrumental in the development of Vulvar Disorders Clinics at the Royal Womens Hospital, Melbourne Sexual Health Clinic and Skin and cancer Foundation (now Skin Health Institute).

Currently she is the Clinical Lead of the Vulval clinic at the Jean Hailes Foundation Medical Centre in Clayton. Tanja is the current President of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease (ISSVD) and has served as President of the Australian New Zealand Vulvovaginal Society (ANZVS) of which she is a founding member and has served both societies in various roles. These societies are multidisciplinary organizations dedicated to research, education, and clinical care of vulvovaginal disease.

Tanja remains passionate about improving health care access and literacy for all women. She is actively engaged in teaching at all levels of health care providers and is delighted that circumstances have enabled her to continue to work in this field. She is enjoying consulting at Maryvale Private Hospital every Wednesday in addition to her work at Clayton and Warragul. She has presented at regional, national, and international conferences and published.

Tanja also serves as an Assistant Editor for the International Journal of Womens Dermatology and is on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Lower Genital Tract Disease.
