Graduate Registered Nurse Program

The Maryvale Private Hospital (MPH) Graduate Program is developed for newly graduated nurses. The program is designed over a 48 week period which will enable you to make the successful transition to becoming a confident and competent nurse, in a supportive environment.

On successful completion of the graduate program you will have the opportunity to apply for ongong employment with MPH.

Our surgical specialties include orthopaedic, bariatric, endoscopy, urology, gynaecology, dental, and general surgery.

Program Overview:

The program has been designed with the transitioning graduate in mind. You will have an orientation week where you will learn your way around the hospital, access the information you need to get started, and have some supernumery time on the ward.

You will also have scheduled study days throughout the year.

What the year looks like:

You will be employed in a temporary part time capacity working 8 shifts per fortnight (60 hours). You will be rostered both early and late shifts, with the expectation that you will do some night shifts throughout the year.

  • Surgical
  • Theatre
  • Consulting Clinic

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You must be eligible for registration as a registered nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • You must have Australian or New Zealand citizenship or have permanent residency in Australia.
  • You must not have a completed a Graduate Program previously.

Maryvale Private Hospital is seeking Registered and Endorsed Enrolled Nurses (RN’s and EENs) to join our friendly, supportive Ward Team on morning, afternoon and night duty shifts who pride themselves on delivering high quality patient care.

We are also seeking Nurses with demonstrated experience in Scrub/Scout, Anaesthetics and Recovery to join our dedicated and friendly Operating Theatre team.

As a valued staff member at MPH you will play a key role in providing the best possible outcomes for our patients by providing the absolute best possible care.

Successful applicants must be suitably experienced and have a commitment to providing excellent standards of care and exceptional communication skills, while working in a supportive team environment. Essential criteria for all roles:

The Position

We currently have a unique opportunity for an Apprentice Chef (2nd year preferred) to join our dynamic Catering Team. We are looking for an energetic, positive person that is passionate about food and thrives working in a team environment.

As the Apprentice Chef you will be heavily involved in the Maryvale Private Hospital Catering Team functionality. You will learn from an energetic multi-discipline team in the importance of providing a constant high standard of food production, dietary requirements for patients, doctors, staff, visitors and other hospital visitors.

Throughout your apprenticeship you will be exposed to all the branches of cooking, preparation of food, planning meals, and any general and specific duties relating to food preparation, service and an overall compliance with Maryvale’s Food Safety Program.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Completed (or almost completed) your first year as an Apprentice Chef
  • A genuine passion for the food and hospitality within the health sector.
  • Be keen to learn and develop your skills as an apprentice.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Observation and awareness of Maryvale Private Hospital’s Mission Statement.
  • Knowledge of Food Hygiene Procedures.
