Food Services Assistant
Casual

The Role:

Food Service Assistants provide a high level of customer service and efficient service delivery to our clients, patients, doctors, staff and visitors in a safe and courteous manner.
As the Food Services Assistant you will be required to assist in the preparation, delivery and service of meals to patients and staff while working within a team environment. Enthusiasm and a friendly approach is a must in this role.
Successful applicants will be flexible and available to accept a range of shifts throughout the week, including weekend shifts.

The successful candidate will have:

      • Previous experience within a food service environment.
      • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
      • Observation and awareness of Maryvale Private Hospital’s Mission Statement.
      • Demonstrated knowledge of Food Hygiene Procedures.
      • An ability to work within the guidelines of an approved Food Safety Plan.
      • An ability to work within a team environment, and also autonomously.
      • Demonstrated high-level Customer Service focus.
      • High level of organisational and time management skills.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

      • Food Handlers Certificate.
      • Understanding of infection control guidelines.

Desirable:

      • Recent experience within a health care facility.
      • Knowledge of manual handling principles and environmental hygiene standards an advantage.

Nurse Unit Manager (Ward)

The Role

The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for fostering a positive culture, driving change, providing a safe working environment and the effective utilisation of financial resources within a cycle of continuous improvement. The role will provide leadership and management to a strongly committed nursing team. You will work with a wider multidisciplinary team in a collaborative model to shape the provision, service development and implementation of best care to our patients.

Being responsible for all aspects of patient care, developing and maintaining safe clinical practices and excellent clinical outcomes, quality improvement and human resources management, you will need to have exceptional communication skills, have the ability to manage challenging situations and be able to engage with all of our stakeholders.

      • Current Division 1 Nursing registration with AHPRA.

      • Broad experience in acute medical and surgical nursing, including quality, occupational health and safety, infection control NSQHS accreditation programs.
      • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership ensuring best practice in patient care and staff management.
      • Effective human resource and communication skills to manage a diverse team to achieve positive outcomes.
      • A focus on customer service and continuous quality improvement.
      • A demonstrated commitment to professional development.
      • A knowledge and understanding of current issues in acute medical surgical units.
      • Experience in managing departmental financial budgeting.
      • Demonstrated ability to utilise information technology systems to enhance practice.

 Highly Regarded Desirable Criteria:

      • Qualification in Management.
      • Previous Experience in a similar role.
      • Previous Experience in a Private Health setting.

The Role

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Theatre Technician to join our friendly, supportive Operating Theatre Team which prides itself on delivering high quality patient care.

Reporting to the Operating Theatre Manager the Theatre Technician assists in the delivery of patient care under the direction of the nursing and medical staff.  The Theatre Technician is exposed to a broad range of complex acute and medical services provided at Maryvale Private Hospital.

Essential Criteria

      • Exceptional Interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff and other medical and non-medical personnel.
      • Strong teamwork focus.
      • Effective time Management or organisational skills.

The Role

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, the Orderly is responsible for the safe and efficient transfer of patients, distributing internal mail and linen, assisting with environmental services, collection and delivery of equipment and other duties to support the Hospital as required.
