Operating Suite Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as we expand our Operating Suite to include a new CSSD, 9 Bed PACU, 10 bed second stage recovery area and additional operating theatre (2-3) and two new endoscopy rooms.

As a member of the Hospital Leadership Team the Operating Room Manager will work within a collaborative model to shape the provision, service development and implementation of best care to our patients.

The Operating Suite Manager is responsible for fostering a positive culture, driving change, safe, efficient and effective leadership and management of the Operating Suite including all aspects of patient care, developing and maintaining safe clinical practices and excellent clinical outcomes, quality improvement, human resources management and efficient utilisation of financial resources.

You will have exceptional communication skills and have the ability to manage challenging situations and be able to engage with all of our stakeholders.

At Maryvale Private Hospital our surgical specialities include;

Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Gastroenterology, Endoscopy, General Surgery, ENT, Vascular, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Plastics and Urology, Dental, Bariatric, Facio-maxilliary and Colo-rectal.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership ensuring best practice in patient care and staff management
  • Effective human resource and communication skills and ability to manage a diverse team to achieve positive outcomes
  • A focus on customer service and continuous quality improvement
  • A demonstrated commitment to professional development
  • An understanding of contemporary issues in operating rooms.
  • Experience in management of financial resources and budgeting. Demonstrated ability to utilise information technology to enhance practice

Highly Regarded Desirable Criteria:

  • Qualification in Management.
  • Qualification in Peri operative services
  • Previous Experience in a similar role.
  • Previous Experience in a Private Health setting.

Operating Room- Theatre Technician

The Role

We are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Theatre Technician to join our friendly, supportive Operating Theatre Team who pride themselves on delivering high quality patient care.

Reporting to the Operating Theatre Manager the Theatre Technician assists in the delivery of patient care under the direction of the nursing and medical staff.  The Theatre Technician is exposed to a broad range of complex acute and medical services that Maryvale Private Hospital provides.

Essential Criteria

  • Exceptional Interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff and other medical and non-medical personnel.
  • Strong teamwork focus.
  • Effective time Management or organisational skills.
  • Commitment to quality and risk management.

Desirable Criteria

  • Current Theatre Technician experience within the health sector.
  • Experience in maintaining and using relevant Operating Room Equipment.
  • Certificate III in Health Services Assistant, or studying towards.
  • Certificate III in Sterilisation or above.

The Position

We are seeking energetic and innovative people with a strong teamwork focus and effective customer service skills to join our Catering Team. A passion for food is an absolute must for this role.

This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and motivated multidisciplinary team.  As the chef you will be responsible for maintaining a constant high standard of food production and dietary requirements for patients, doctors, staff and other hospital visitors.

Your duties will encompass all the branches of cooking, preparation of food, general specific cleaning duties, in compliance with Maryvale’s Food Safety Program.

The temporary position will be offered on a temporary basis and would suit someone seeking a short term role working in a professional organisation. There may be an opportunity to extend beyond the conclusion date.

The permanent position will provide regular rostered shifts and ongoing support in your career development.

The casual position will provide extra support to the catering team to cover staff leave (short notice and long term). This position will be rostered to ensure consistency for both the employee and Manager.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience within a food service environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Observation and awareness of Maryvale Private Hospital’s Mission Statement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Food Hygiene Procedures.
  • An ability to work within the guidelines of an approved Food Safety Plan.
  • An ability to work within a team environment, and also autonomously.

  • Previous experience in a similar role.

Specific on-the-job training will be provided to the right candidate.
