The Role

This position is responsible for accurate and timely coding and Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG) analysis including auditing, data reporting to external parties, quality improvement activities and participation in other Clinical Coding Service activities.

The Health Information Manager / Clinical Coder also is responsible for leading, directing and developing the Clinical Coding and Health Information Services at Maryvale Private Hospital, encompassing a wide range of functional areas including data reporting and auditing; record management, and Freedom of Information (FOI).

They will undertake quality management audits and studies aimed at improving Health Information management service, systems and procedures towards better internal and external customer service.

CRITERIA

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A tertiary qualification in Health Information Management (or equivalent) or recognised Clinical Coding course and eligible for membership of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMMA). Or;
  • HIMAA Clinical Coding Course.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in clinical record management and data reporting.

Essential:

  • Extensive knowledge of Clinical Coding and Casemix
  • Recent clinical coding experience in a hospital/medical environment
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
  • Excellent IT Skills and working knowledge of patient information system
  • Knowledge of private sector funding models
  • Excellent understanding of Private Health Funding Models

Desirable:

  • Understanding of quality improvement principles and accreditation processes.
  • Experience leading and managing staff

Maryvale Private Hospital is seeking Registered and Endorsed Enrolled Nurses (RN’s and EENs) to join our friendly, supportive Ward Team on morning, afternoon and night duty shifts who pride themselves on delivering high quality patient care.

We are also seeking Nurses with demonstrated experience in Scrub/Scout, Anaesthetics and Recovery to join our dedicated and friendly Operating Theatre team.

As a valued staff member at MPH you will play a key role in providing the best possible outcomes for our patients by providing the absolute best possible care.

Successful applicants must be suitably experienced and have a commitment to providing excellent standards of care and exceptional communication skills, while working in a supportive team environment. Full Time

The Position

We currently have a unique opportunity for an Apprentice Chef (2nd year preferred) to join our dynamic Catering Team. We are looking for an energetic, positive person that is passionate about food and thrives working in a team environment.

As the Apprentice Chef you will be heavily involved in the Maryvale Private Hospital Catering Team functionality. You will learn from an energetic multi-discipline team in the importance of providing a constant high standard of food production, dietary requirements for patients, doctors, staff, visitors and other hospital visitors.

Throughout your apprenticeship you will be exposed to all the branches of cooking, preparation of food, planning meals, and any general and specific duties relating to food preparation, service and an overall compliance with Maryvale’s Food Safety Program.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Completed (or almost completed) your first year as an Apprentice Chef
  • A genuine passion for the food and hospitality within the health sector.
  • Be keen to learn and develop your skills as an apprentice.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Observation and awareness of Maryvale Private Hospital’s Mission Statement.
  • Knowledge of Food Hygiene Procedures.
  • An ability to work within a team environment and to take instruction.
  • Demonstrated high-level Customer Service focus.
  • High level of organisational and time management skills.
  • A high level of hygiene standards and personal presentation.
  • Knowledge of manual handling principles and environmental hygiene standards
