CEO Message – November 2016

Posted on December 30, 2016

Staff at Maryvale Private Hospital had more to celebrate at our recent end-of-year function. 2016 marked 25-years since Maryvale Private opened its doors. Below is a transcript of CEO Kerry Snare’s speech to the night.

“Anniversaries are opportunities for recollections of the year gone by and positive reflections for the time ahead.

This past year has been a happy and successful year in so many ways. It has been defined by happy memories, supportive teamwork, friendships and enduring relationships. Of course there have also been some paths that may have been slightly more difficult to travel together. Yet in spite and despite the odd stumbling blocks along the way – we have travelled through yet another year – together, supportive, encouraging and enduring.

There have a number of staff here tonight who have been at Maryvale since the beginning Jenny Mc Carthy and Jeanette Minchella both commenced 25/02/1991, then Noelene Lockwood 7/03/1991, Franke Bokma 03/06/91, Annie Riviere 1/07/1991. Not to forget our doctors Rob Dawson, Grant Harrison, George Owen and Michael Sanderson all commenced in ’91 as well.

I thought you may be interested to now a few statistics. In 25 years since the first two patient admissions at 1500 and 1700 on the 17/032016 care has been provided for 50643 Day Patients, 37215 in patients 87,858.

We have had employed 800 staff. Also approximately 200 doctors have been accredited to work at Maryvale.

And as we take the time to express our gratitude for the fantastic years gone by – we turn expectantly to the year and the progress that at lies ahead. We look forward to another wonderful year – a time to build and strengthen forged relationships even further; a time to create even more shared memories and a time filled vision and milestones – whatever they may be – that will be achieved.  Accreditation come to mind!

We are about to enter another exciting phase as Maryvale Private Hospital, I am pleased to be able to say the Maryvale Board has approved that the Building Proposal be submitted to Latrobe Health Services for a new CSSD, increase Recovery capacity to 8 bays and a Day Surgery ward and relocation of endoscopy into main theatre suite.

Tonight, as we celebrate our 25th anniversary, I value the special people that you are and are pleased that you are able to share this occasion with us.

It doesn’t matter where you go in life or what you achieve, or what you do – what matters most is who you have beside you along the way!

Thank you – one and all – for being beside us this past year…and may you be near in the year or years s ahead.”
