History Maryvale Private Hospital was founded in 1991 and is 100% locally by Latrobe Health Services. The hospital was built to provide patients with the option of being admitted to a local private hospital. The hospital is within easy driving distance of Warragul, Moe, Morwell and Traralgon and a comfortable drive along the freeway from the more distant parts of Gippsland. Prior to the opening of Maryvale Private Hospital, privately insured patients in the Latrobe Valley and greater Gippsland had no option but to travel to Melbourne to receive medical treatment in a private facility. Facility Maryvale Private Hospital is a 45 Bed, acute, not-for-profit, fully accredited hospital offering medical and surgical services to the people of the greater Gippsland area. The hospital is set on 17 acres of gardens and bushland. Quality The hospital is accredited through the Australian Council of Healthcare Standards (ACHS) and continues to participate in the Evaluation and Quality Improvement Program (EQuIP). Maryvale Private Hospital provides a level of care comparable with best industry practice, within a framework of assessment, constant evaluation and improvement. The quality commitment at Maryvale Private is acknowledged and fully supported by the Board of Directors. Maryvale Private Hospital generates its funding from contracted health funds and self-insured patients in payment for services. Due to the not-for-profit status of the hospital all revenue raised is returned to the business so that it may continue providing excellence in healthcare.
